LGBTQ Superhero Marriage Equality Memes

Andy Khouri's Batwoman and The Question marriage equality meme

Andy Khouri’s Batwoman and The Question marriage equality meme

Shamelessly inspired by Andy Khouri’s excellent Batwoman and The Question marriage equality meme, I’ve decided to make a few of my own.

I considered making my own Batwoman meme, but ultimately decided that Khouri’s was perfect and I should just focus on some other LGBTQ superheroes.

If you see one you like, please feel free to use it as your profile pic, pass it around, etc. If you do, a link back would be appreciated.

There is a special spot in my heart for Billy/Teddy, so that graphic is now on the Post-Apocalyptic Avengers page. :D

No Midnighter & Apollo? No Alan Scott & Sam? It’s kind of amazing that we now live in a comic book culture where you can make 6 same-sex memes and still major homosexual characters. The culture still has a while to catch up with reality, but comics reflect sexual orientation realities a lot accurately than a lot of other public sphere mediums like advertising and religious tracts.

I agree, there’s actually a surprising number of LGBTQ characters in comics compared to other mediums. I’m actually working on a few more memes (including a Midnighter and Apollo) because there were so many characters that I simply didn’t get to. I didn’t have Alan Scott and Sam on the list but I now might need to see about finding an good image of them. :)

Gay superheroes? There are TONS of them! In fact, I’m going judicial on this and saying gay until proven straight. Even then (maybe just how i read comics) I assume gay.
