In case you missed it, I’m speaking at Dragon*Con 2012 as part of the Fifth Annual Comics and Popular Arts Conference!
Now that the official Comics Track schedule has been released, I can officially announce that I’ll be presenting this Friday, August 31st at 11:30 a.m. in the Hyatt (Hannover F). You’ll find my presentation listed under the Comics Track as “The Superhero as the Other.”
I’ll be presenting a 25-30 minute academic paper titled “A Superhero Census: Sex, Race, and Sexual Orientation in the X-Men, Avengers, and Justice League” followed by a 30 minute Q&A.
Come find out if the X-Men are diverse as they’d like you to think!
